Equity Title of Colorado is a division of Orange Coast Title Company, one of the top three independently owned, underwritten title companies in the United States. Founded over 40 years ago, we have 44 offices throughout Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, California and Texas and are licensed in a total of 42 states. Our 700 committed staff members close over 100,000 transactions annually on behalf of our clients.

Equity Title is underwritten by Stewart Title Company, a top tier national underwriter. Demotech rating agency has graded Stewart with a financial stability rating of A double prime which represents “unsurpassed financial stability.” Additional closing protections are provided by Equity through closing protection letters, general business liability insurance, errors and omissions insurance, fidelity insurance and cyber insurance.

In March of 2014, Equity Title as part of the Orange Coast Title Company and its Family of 26 Title Companies were among the first companies in the real estate industry to have completed a SSAE 16 Service Organization Control Type I and Type II examination. The company and its processes were certified by independent auditors to the American Land Title Association’s (ALTA) “Best Practices” protocols at the highest possible level, “N0 EXCEPTIONS TO STANDARDS”. The company maintains this standard through an annual audit by an independent third party.

In evaluating which title company to use in a given transaction, it is becoming critical to choose a company that has achieved a SSAE 16 Certification from an independent auditor to make sure that the consumer is protected. Our SOC I and II reports describes our controls, the auditors testing of our controls and the auditor’s opinion on the fairness of our description, suitability of the design and operating effectiveness of our controls”.

The closing process at Equity Title is centered around accessibility, convenience and communication. Our system affords our senior escrow officers substantially more time each month to be immediately available and to communicate directly with the client. At the convenience of our customer, we have the ability to close “any time…any place.” We also provide an ongoing dialog with all parties during the transaction through our 12 Point Service System.
